I totally agree with your comments in the last segment of your video. At this year's June resource investment conference in Vancouver, Frank Holmes,of U.S. Global Investors did an excellent presentation on the upcoming infrastructure and economic development projects in China and their impact on the resource industry. You can listen to an Al Korelin interview with him at this link at segment 5: http://www.kereport.com/2011/06/11/opportunities-foreign-investment-case-gold-silver-workings-global-investors-investment-topics/

I would also like add that this recent report is also very interesting and I have put a few excerpts from the report down below: http://www.chinadaily.com.cn/cndy/2011-09/02/content_13600687.htm

Plan Nord targets Chinese investors for mining, energy development

SHANGHAI - "The Plan Nord, or North Plan, a 25-year project aimed at responsible and sustainable development in Northern Quebec, Canada, wants more Chinese investment in the region's rich mining and renewable energy resources.

"The Plan Nord is a long-term, progressive project that will be the benchmark for the sustainable development of northern regions, and we would be very pleased to welcome China as a partner," said Jean Charest, the premier of Quebec, at a conference in Shanghai on Thursday...

"Basically, the mining sector in Quebec is experiencing a boom, and China has become the top foreign destination for Quebec's iron ore exports," said Charest.

Wuhan Iron & Steel Group, China's third-largest steel producer, signed an agreement on Tuesday with Century Iron Mines Corp (CIMC), a Canadian mining company, to acquire a stake and jointly develop an iron ore project in Quebec."

There are two other reports that cover Chinese investment in overseas projects. The first is from Bloomberg.com at this link http://www.bloomberg.com/news/2011-08-26/quebec-woos-japan-china-to-invest-in-80-billion-regional-plan.html

This second article was posted on the Idaho statesman website last December and it details a Chinese company's plans to build "a 10,000 to 30,000 acre technology zone for industry, retail centers and homes south of the Boise Airport." It is at this link http://www.idahostatesman.com/2010/12/31/1472023/chinese-company-eyes-boise.html

I know this is a bit dated, but the Jim Rogers book, "A Bull in China" gives a good overview of the industries and raw materials that are important for the development of the Chinese Economy.

Thanks for all of your great comments. On Jim Rogers, I can't remember the title but I read an earlier book where he drove around the world with his girlfriend on his Harley and talked about all of the great places to invest. A very good read but dated now. On Canadian Spirit, I used to own them but aren't they mainly a nat gas play? As you know, all of the nat gas plays have been killed over the last few years. It will eventually turn but most are now going for oil and the ngl's (which is what the deep Montney seems to have in this area). On the gold dividends, I think it's a great idea for a certain segment of the population who want dividends. I'm more of a risk taker and want all cash plowed back into a business. In 10-15 years, I'll take all of the dividends I can get.
